The process of becoming a doctor in the United States is a lengthy one, taking at least three years to complete. Regardless of the training received abroad, doctors must complete a residency program in order to practice medicine in the United States or Canada. To help international medical graduates (IMG) find the right program for them, there are more than 400 programs available to search and filter. Each program has its own admission requirements, application processes, costs, benefits, and financial aid options.
The Mayo Clinic M. D. program prepares students to translate scientific discoveries into applications that improve patient care. This requires a wide range of skills, aptitudes and characteristics.
